Welcome to West Roxbury Main Streets!

The purpose of West Roxbury Main Streets is to promote and enhance West Roxbury 's business district running contiguously down Centre Street from the Holy Name Rotary to the Spring Street intersection with the VFW Parkway.  

WRMS embraces a four prong approach to achieving its revitalization goals: enhancing the physical appearance of the commercial district; improving its economic stability; marketing its features and benefits; and promoting community involvement among its business and residential membership base.

Fall/Winter Events

Parkway Holiday House Tour– On December 7th from 2pm - 5pm, join us for a special shopping event at Msgr. Donahue Hall at St. Theresa School followed by a trolley tour of seasonly decorated houses.  Tickets are $20 or $25 the day of the event.  If you are interested in nominating your home or a friend's home for the tour, please call 617.325.6400 or e-mail director@wrms.org.

Sponsor a Snowflake– Help make our business district during the winter by sponsoring one of our 60 snowflakes located on Centre Street.  Sponsorships are $300 per snowflake and many snowflakes are still available for adoption.. Call the WRMS office for more info and a sponsorship form.  Snowflakes will remain up for twelve weeks from November 24, 2008 - February 27, 2009.

  Meet our Board Members
The West Roxbury Main Streets Board of Directors includes representation from both the business and residential community.  Here's an introduction to some of the people who make our organization possible:

Tom Dougherty - President
Mr. Dougherty is a currently a Vice President at Covidien, formerly Tyco Healthcare. Dougherty also serves as the Co-Chair of the Boston Police Department District 5 Community Advisory Board and is a coach in numerous youth leagues in the Parkway.  He has a BA from UMASS Amherst and a MPA from UMASS Boston.   Dougherty lives in West Roxbury with his wife Doreen and their two children.
Nick Anastasopoulos - Vice President Mr. Anastasopoulos is an Attorney at Mirick O'Connell.    He is a member of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis Council of Boston.  Anastasopoulos hold a BS from Northeastern University and a JD from New England School of Law. A lifelong West Roxbury resident, he and his wife Louisa reside in West Roxbury with their two children.
Joni Walter - Secretary
Ms. Walter works as an Assistant for WRMS Business Member Judith Sargent Photography.  A former staff member of WRMS, she volunteers as a Girl Scout Leader at Holy Name Parish.  Walter holds a BS in Telecommunications from the University of Kentucky.  She and her husband Carl reside in West Roxbury with their two children.
